Ascend Customs is a Utah-owned shop based in Sandy, Utah, installing film, coatings, and wheel and tire packages for owners across Salt Lake County and north Utah County. Everything happens under one roof, which is the whole reason the details line up.
Why we exist
Anyone can post a glamour shot. The difference between a good install and a bad one shows up at the top of the door glass, at the edge of a hood wrap, and in whether your steering wheel shakes at 70.
Those three things have nothing in common except that they are all invisible in photographs and all impossible to fake in person. Building a shop around them means slower jobs, more prep, and a second tech inspecting work under LED before keys come back — and it means the work still looks right in three years.
How the shop runs
Film bays are filtered and temperature-controlled. Contamination trapped under film is permanent, so air quality is not an afterthought.
Tint and PPF are plotted from your exact vehicle and cut on a machine. No blade near your glass or paint.
No steel bar against a wheel lip. This matters enormously on polished and powder-coated finishes.
The machine loads the tire against a roller to simulate road pressure, catching vibration a spin balance misses.
What we install
Nano-ceramic film that blocks 99% of UV and most of the infrared that actually heats a cabin — computer-cut for your exact glass and installed in a filtered bay.
Self-healing urethane over the panels rock chips actually hit. Edges are wrapped where the panel allows, so there is no visible line collecting dirt.
A single-stage correction first, then a coating that stops water spots and etching from setting in. Washing gets faster and the gloss stops fading.
Full colour changes, satin roofs, and chrome delete in cast film that comes back off without taking your paint with it. Reversible by design.
Cast, flow-formed, and forged wheels sized against your actual trim, wrapped in rubber that suits the build. Touchless mounting and road-force balancing.
Honest about the shop
We are an appointment-based shop, not a walk-in tint stand. Film work happens in filtered bays on a schedule, coatings occupy a bay overnight, and wraps involve taking a car apart — none of that works on a drop-in basis. Call or send the quote form and we will find you a date, usually three to seven days out for tint and one to two weeks for film and coatings.
We install customer-supplied wheels and tires at standard labour rates, though the fitment guarantee only covers setups we specified. We do not install customer-supplied film, because we cannot warranty material we did not source and film failures are almost always material or handling problems.
We are also not the cheapest option in the valley, and we are straightforward about why. Glass prep, decontamination, computer-cut patterns, road-force balancing, and a second inspection all cost time. The shops quoting half our tint price are skipping some of that, and the place it shows up is the top edge of your door glass in eighteen months.
